[For some reason, Blogger wouldn't let this post yesterday]
Pete was late getting home tonight, because he got a flat tire on the way home from work. So I didn't get to go out on a bike ride until later that I usually do (I don't have a light on my bike), so I went for a shorter ride - just to my most favorite scene in Niantic and then turned around and came back. It was still nice and I listen to John Mellencamp, The Best that I Could Do 1997 on the mp3 - this week it seems like this (from Jack and Diane) sums everything up:
Oh yeah life goes on
Long after the thrill of livin is gone
Oh yeah say life goes on
Long after the thrill of livin is gone,
Even tho' school doesn't start for a couple more weeks, getting the new rooms set up and the changes that I'm making to my curriculum mean that really from here on out, I will in the classroom everyday until my students join me on Sept 6 - so realistically work has begun. Truth be told, I don't mind getting back to the school groove - as I recently told someone: it keeps me busy and busy is good - it keeps me out of trouble. ;)

sorry to hear about the flat tire. I hate them, and luckily haven't had one since our house was under construction and we kept driving over huge screws. I digress.
Where do you get those Friday Fives from? All my friends are so cool and have so many resources I lack, here in old-age-hood.
There used to be fridayfive.org, but that isn't working any more. Now I use: http://community.livejournal.com/thefridayfive/ Most of the folks there are LJ people, but I usually just copy and paste and don't really paste back to the Friday5 page.
It's funny, between yesterday and today, that theme I wrote about in my blog (about paying attention when life is trying to teach us a lesson, otherwise it just keeps coming back again and again) is appearing in everyone else's blog this week, too.
hmmmm ...
