Blocking!

I finished up Cobweb this week. I must have gotten off track when counting my rows, since it is pretty clear that I've not done enough rows. I did do my best to figure out the edging, but it just was not working for me, so I decided to just do a regular cast off, then I realized that there was an alternate choice of doing a crocheted trim on the curved edge, of course, I realize that after I finished the plain cast off. I was pleased to learn an new technique: applied I-cord! After a few false starts I was able to figure it out. I had hoped that it would stretch out when blocked, and it did a bit. Although it isn't quite the large shawl that I would have liked (should have trusted my instincts that it really wasn't long enough - I'm such an impatient knitter). I think I might do a little chain stitch cord to use to sort of tie it around my shoulder. It seems that it will come down to my elbows and I think I will like it anyway.

Depending on the first trial run, I might make a lighter colored one to wear with a sleeveless dress for my neices' wedding in June. Pictures to follow :)
